13 Smartphones with the Best Screens

With so many smartphones making their way into the market they need to have some specifications which make them stand out in the overcrowded market. Here is a list of 13 smartphones that come with amazing resolution and pixel per inch (ppi) density. All these 13 smartphones have ppi which is above 300.

 
1. HTC One X


The successful flagship smartphone from HTC in its One series was first unveiled on 26th February 2012 at the Mobile World Congress. Since the day of its launch this smartphone has been well received by the smartphone users and the handset is still going on to win appreciation world over.


HTC One X comes with a gigantic screen. It features a 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 72 X 1280 pixels. The screen boasts of 312 pixels per inch (ppi) density.


The phone also features a Corning Gorilla Glass which makes the screen stronger. The large screen and the ppi count of the phone make it best suited for playing games, watching videos, and accessing mails and social networking sites rather enjoyable.



2. iPhone 4/4S


The fourth generation and the fifth generation iPhone from Apple were a change in the design from the predecessor; iPhone 3GS.


The iPhone 4 comes with a 3.5 inch LED backlit IPS TFT capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 640 X 960 pixels. The screen comes with a pixel density of 330 per inch.  Its successor iPhone 4S also comes with the exact same screen specifications.  These two phones come with Corning Gorilla Glass and olephobic coating which means that while using the touch screen you will not have to worry about your fingerprints smudging the screen.



3. iPhone 5


The latest member in the Apple family is the iPhone 5. Unlike its predecessors the latest iPhone comes with a larger screen. The new iPhone has a 4 inch screen with a slightly higher ppi density in comparison to its predecessors. It has 326 pixels per inch density.

















4. HTC Windows Phone 8X


HTC Windows Phone 8X was recently launched after Microsoft launched their Windows Phone 8 operating system. This phone also fall in the above 4 inch bracket of smartphones as it comes with a screen size of 4.3 inches.  The screen supports a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels and 342 pixels per inch (ppi) density. Like many other smartphones HTC Windows Phone 8X also comes with a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.


This smartphone was the first Windows Phone 8 to debut in the market and it is priced at 35,023.




5. Sony Xperia S


Xperia S is Sony’s flagship smartphone which comes with 4.3 inch LED backlit LCD capacitive touch screen. The screen supports a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels with 342 pixels per inch (ppi) density. 


This phone is much loved among the users because of the fact that the glass is scratch resistant and the screen also comes with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology.






6. Galaxy Nexus


This smartphone was a partnership between Google and Samsung. Nexus was also one of the first few smartphones which functioned on Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich operating system when it was released.


Google Nexus comes with 4.56 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels. The screen comes with 316 pixels per inch (ppi) density.


Like iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, Nexus also comes with a protective coating of Oleophobic coating.




7. Sony Xperia Ion


Xperia Ion is an android based smartphone that Sony launched at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.  This smartphone comes with a 4.55 inch LED back lit LCD capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels. The screen has a pixel density of 323.


Like Xperia S, Ion also comes with a scratch resistant screen and Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology.










8. BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha


The new smartphone from Backberry hasn’t made its way into the market yet, but RIM held a preview gathering for the upcoming smartphone. The smartphone comes with a 4.2 inch HD display. The phone comes with a resolution of 1280 X 768 pixels.


The pixels per inch density of the new smartphone from RIM beats its rival iPhone hollow. The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha comes with 356 ppi density where as iPhone 5 comes with 326 ppi.






9. LG Nexus 4 E960


The smartphone from LG comes with a 4.7 inch True HD IPS Plus Capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 768 X 1280 pixels. Nexus 4 E960 comes with 318 pixels per inch (ppi) density.


Like many of the competing smartphones Nexus 4 also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which makes it stronger and protects it from damages.









10. Nokia E6


E6 is the business QWERTY smartphone from Nokia. This phone functions on Symbian platform operating system.  This smartphone comes with a slightly smaller screen than its competitors. It has a 2.46 inch TFT Capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 640 X 480 pixels with 325 ppi (pixel per inch) density.

Huawei Ascend D Quad XL comes with a 4.5 inch IPS+ LCD Capacitive touch screen. The screen comes with a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels and 326 ppi (pixels per inch) density. The pixels density of Huawei Ascend D Quad XL is the same as that of the iPhone’s Retina Display.


This smartphone is powered by an extremely powerful 1.5 GHz quad core processor.







13. LG Optimus LTE


LG Optimus LTE like Huawei Ascend D Quad XL comes with a 4.5 inch screen. The True HD-IPS LCD capacitive touch screen supports a resolution of 720 X 1280 pixels with 326 pixels per inch (ppi) display. The pixel density of this smartphone also matches up to that of the iPhone with Retina Display.


This phone has been specifically made for areas with LTE (Long Term Evolution).
